The range of Oldrati products, thanks to the extensive portfolio of compounds, covers all applications where sealing systems made in elastomers are required. The R&D staff work in close contact with customers to develop and realize new materials and gaskets with high performances in terms of quality and reliability. Oldrati materials are certified by the main and most important mining companies and International certification bodies for critical applications such as explosive decompressions, high and low temperatures.

Among the main compounds:

  • Perfluoro elastomers for low temperatures
  • Perfluoro elastomers for high temperatures
  • Fluoropolymers containing ethylene – tetrafluoroethylene- perfluoromethyl vinyl ether classified according to ASTM 1418 as FEPM
  • Fluoropolymers for applications at low temperatures with TG lower than -40° C
  • Fluoropolymers defined by ASTM 1418 as V type, specifically designed to improve resistance to amines and bases
  • Fluoropolymers classified by ASTM 1418 as TFE/P, absolutely indicated for steam applications at high pressure and highly alkaline environments.

Materials

The discovery of new hydrocarbon deposits in geographic areas in which the climatic conditions reach extremely rigid temperatures, led Oldrati Group to develop sealing systems able to operate up to – 60° C.
In the field of hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR), Oldrati Group proposes OLD NHP-ICE 90; this product guarantees an excellent behaviour in the presence of hydrocarbons of different composition and is also able to maintain static sealing in dry conditions up to -60° C.
For applications in extremely hostile environments from a chemical point of view, such as in the presence of high percentages of amines, hydrogen sulphide, vapour or methanol, Oldrati Group suggests using materials of the OLD-REX ICE series. These products have been realized by using a brand new generation of perfluor elastomers that, thanks to their structure and monomeric composition, can reach static sealing temperatures below  -40° C.
The use of these components allows to safely operate in different Artic environments where materials not specifically designed for these applications inevitably cause the inefficiency of the whole system.

When a gasket or a rubber component is subject to chemical attack and / or very high temperatures, the use of perfluoro elastomer of the OLD-REX series (FFKM-FFPM) is required.
In the conditions indicated, these materials represent, in fact, when compared to other rubbers, the maximum performance achievable with an elastomer.
Only Oldrati items made with this special series can guarantee absolute chemical resistance to a very wide range of chemical products or intermediates; furthermore, using specially formulated materials it is possible to achieve exceptional thermal resistances, sometimes higher than 320 ° C.
These extraordinary performances depend on the fact that these elastomers show a stability and a behavior absolutely comparable to that of polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE).
The use of items made with the products of the OLD-REX series leads to an undoubted improvement of the process which translates into greater efficiency of the sealing system, greater safety and therefore an overall economic saving.
